Middleware Launches Enhanced Full-Stack Cloud Observability Platform

Middleware unveils a new version of its full-stack cloud observability platform, offering developers improved real-time monitoring, enhanced user experience, and expanded integration support for applications and infrastructure.
Fremont, CA: Middleware, an innovative observability startup, released a new iteration of its full-stack cloud observability platform. Designed to aid developers in real-time monitoring of applications and infrastructure, the platform aims to boost operational efficiency and minimize downtime. This latest version offers comprehensive control over telemetry data and costs, introduces new monitoring capabilities, accelerates root cause analysis, and expands integration support.
The platform's enhancements reflect Middleware's commitment to providing developers with advanced, automated solutions for monitoring distributed architectures, emphasizing scalability and ease of use.
Developers no longer want outdated debugging systems. Key Improvements in Middleware's Platform:
New UI/UX:
Middleware has undergone a complete frontend redesign, featuring over 300 refreshed screens and 100 customizable dashboards. The new interface includes alerts on custom metrics and a unified date picker, enhancing user navigation and accessibility.
Auto Instrumentation:
The platform now supports auto instrumentation for applications developed in Python, Node.js, Java, .NET, and Golang through the OpenTelemetry operator. This enables distributed tracing with zero code changes, significantly simplifying the instrumentation process for developers.
Datadog Agent Support:
Middleware now allows developers to send logs, metrics, and traces from Datadog agents directly to its platform. This feature eliminates the need for new agents or configurations, ensuring a seamless transition for users migrating from other systems.
Status Page:
Users can now create and publish status pages to their websites, facilitating synthetic checks and incident management. The public-facing status page displays the availability of services/products and can send notifications via Slack and email to keep stakeholders informed during outages.
Product Performance Monitoring within Real User Monitoring (RUM):
Middleware's RUM now tracks core web vitals, including First Contentful Paint (FCP), Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), First Input Delay (FID), and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS). The extension to native iOS and Android apps provides insights into performance metrics and user interactions across mobile platforms.
New Integrations:
The platform now supports AWS integration, collecting logs, metrics, and events from services such as ECS, EC2, S3, RDS, Firehose, Lambda, and EBS. This simplifies AWS monitoring with less complex configurations. Additionally, Middleware can ingest logs from Elastic Logstash, providing an alternative to Elastic Search and Open Search.
Log Patterns:
This new feature enables users to quickly identify logs with similar patterns, facilitating faster root cause analysis and improving troubleshooting efficiency.
Tejas Kokje, Head of Engineering at Middleware, emphasized the company's commitment to enhancing its platform: "We are committed to making our cloud-native observability platform more powerful, intuitive, and cost-effective by using OpenTelemetry, cloud object storage, and fast analytical query processing. We're introducing ingestion controls and pipelines for precise user control over telemetry data sent to Middleware. We'll also leverage AI to detect telemetry anomalies, suggest alerts, and enable querying using natural language."
